Froggo plus v.2 demo is here playable in the browser

There is a new demo version of Froggo plus and now it’s also palyable in the browser! As you have read in my last post, now it’s finally possible to play python games directly in the web browser without having to have python installed. So, this is a great revolution for python, as not only games can now run on the web. Now nothing can stop us from developing games that anyone can play, even if the players do not have python on their system. I had some problem creating the games for the web, until I substituted some mp3 files with ogg files and everything was fine.

Notice the cool new features of the moveable platforms.

There’s a hidden “treasure” in that spot.

There are new enemies, this one flies.

This one, instead cannot be eaten or killed, just avoid it.

What will this hand do and what is that ‘pop-corn’ flying around me?

Ah, I can move up and down the “hand” once I jumped on it. And the ‘pop-corn’ indicates that I can do a double jump (once and then the ‘pop-corn’ is gone).

Here is another not eadeable enemy and this one moves too.

There are different stages, this is the forest.

Fun fact: you can roll on an apple, dunno why.

These “i” blocks gives you info when hit.

In case you want to play it on your smartphone, but it may not work. I tried on the ipad too, but it does not work.

Conclusion

This game is getting more interesting as “smelly frog” is increasing the complexity of action that can be done and gets more changelling and with some puzzle to get to the end. Since the original game a lot of steps have been made and at the rhythm the author is adding new enemies and game dynamics we can expect a very cool game when it will be completed.

Started with basic on the spectrum, loved javascript in the 90ies and python in the 2000, now I am back with python, still making some javascript stuff when needed.
